Arizona Department of Revenue has announced an amnesty program for non-filers and under-reporters  who wish to avoid the state tax controversy and resolve their potential tax laibilities.  The amnesty program is called the "State of Arizona Tax Recovery Program" and runs from September 1, 2011 to October 1, 2011.  The Program allows Arizona taxpayers who owe back taxes to make arrangements to pay those back taxes without penalty or criminal prosecution.  The following taxes are included in the Tax Recovery Program: individual income; corporate income; transaction privilege tax (sales); use tax; withholding tax; partnership tax; fiduciaary and luxury tax.

There are many requirements and short time periods in which to prepare and files the needed returns.  Both individuals and businesses that owe back taxes are eligible, including non-residents and part-year resident individuals, as well as out-of-state businesses.  Our attorneys focus our practice on tax controvery and tax problem resolution.  We represent taxpayers before auditors all the way to tax court and beyond.

This is a good opportunity for those who have unfiled tax returns to come compliant with the ADOR.  Because of the short time period of this amnesty program, it is important to contact your tax attorney sooner rather than later.  here will be complex forms to complete and returns to prepare, so time is of the essance.
